How Do I Get Information Sources for Free? Come See the Many Ways…: HSLs Quick Tips & Tricks

Information abounds, but not all of it is freely available.  Fortunately for you, the University Libraries provide access to millions of resources at no cost to you, but do you know how to get to them?  This session will cover our Discovery Search, subject databases, LibKey, Get VText, ILL, and other services for you to “dip your toes” into using and finding out just how expansive your access to information resources truly is!

This session is part of the University Libraries Health Sciences Libraries (HSLs) “HSLs Quick Tips & Tricks” series.  These are 30-minute sessions held via Zoom on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  To accommodate different schedules, they are held twice on that day, once at 12:15pm and again at 5:15pm.

Each month will cover a specific topic that relates to the information and/or scholarly landscape.  While some topics will have themes that carry across months, each session is designed to be a stand-alone focus on a topic within that theme.

These sessions will include activities and engaged discussions, so attendees become more familiar with the content and are able to immediately put the information and skills covered into practice. While the examples used in these sessions are geared towards those in the health sciences, anyone who has an interest in the topic is welcome to attend.

If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, welcome! Please email library-event-accessibility@groups.office365.vt.edu at least 10 days prior to the event.
