Power Searching: Tricks & Tools for Advanced Literature Searching

Whether you are new to searching academic databases or looking to develop a comprehensive search strategy, this workshop will help you maximize the effectiveness of your literature searches. We will discuss the process of turning a research question into a search strategy and how to select databases and grey literature sources that best support your search goals. Participants will have the opportunity to practice these skills and begin designing their own search strategies. This workshop will be particularly useful for students conducting an evidence synthesis review (systematic review, scoping review, etc.) or a literature review, however, it will benefit anyone needing to conduct rigorous academic research.

If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, welcome! Please email library-event-accessibility@groups.office365.vt.edu at least 10 days prior to the event.
