Researcher IDs, Scholarly Profiles, and Mandates Oh My!

In scholarly publishing, it can be difficult to discern individual researchers with similar names, or follow a researcher who has had a name change over the course of their career. This in turn has led to granting agencies increasingly require the inclusion of Researcher IDs in grant proposals. But what are Researcher IDs, and how can they be used effectively? This session provides an overview of how Researcher IDs are able to identify authored works by a specific person, along with how these can be used to automatically populate scholarly profiles which in turn can increase visibility while also meeting grant requirements for providing these types of identifiers.
