Data Cleaning in Excel

Data Cleaning in Excel

More people work with data in spreadsheets than any other form, using software like Excel and Google Sheets. Spreadsheets provide relatively low-barrier tools like pivot tables and charts to summarize and analyze such data, but often there are inconsistencies or the data are stored in ways that are hard to analyze.
This hands-on workshop helps learners identify and practice addressing common data problems using tools built into Excel and other spreadsheet software, as well as establishing workflows and habits to reduce such issues from the start.

No experience is necessary, but learners will need access to a computer with a recent version of Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software installed. This workshop is based on the Data Carpentry curriculum and is recommended for anyone who works with data in spreadsheets.
