Python 101: Foundational Programming Principles
This hands-on workshop for novices will cover basic programming skills in Python.
The workshop is open to anyone. You do not need any experience to participate but you will need access to a Windows, Mac or Linux computer. The curriculum is based on episodes 1-4 of the Software Carpentry Programming with Python lesson.
Learning Outcomes:
-Identify key characteristics and advantages of object-oriented programming
-Practice navigating and utilizing the Jupyter Labs interface
-Use functions and assignment to create and manipulate common object types, including numbers, strings, arrays and lists in Python
-Perform simple statistical summaries and visualization on data arrays in Python
