R 101: Foundational Programming Principles

This hands-on workshop for novices will cover basic programming skills in R.

The workshop is open to anyone. You do not need any experience to participate but you will need access to a Windows, Mac or Linux computer. The curriculum is based on episodes 1-4 of the Software Carpentry Programming with R lesson.

Learning Outcomes:
-Identify key characteristics and advantages of object-oriented programming
-Practice navigating and utilizing RStudio
-Use functions and assignment to create and manipulate common object types in R
-Perform simple statistical summaries and visualization on data arrays in R
