Archival Adventures: WUVT - 75 Years of Radio
It's time for an adventure! A special Saturday adventure, that is. We’re taking a weekend trip to 1948 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of WUVT, Virginia Tech’s student radio station. We’ll be streaming live from the Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room during our open house and exploring materials on display as part of a WUVT-focused exhibit. You can learn more about our WUVT collection in the finding aid here: https://ead.lib.virginia.edu/vivaxtf/view?docId=oai/lib.vt.edu/repositories/2/resources/3967.oai_ead.xml
Join our community collections archivist, Anthony Wright de Hernandez, for a livestream on Twitch! Every week we explore and discuss materials from Special Collections and University Archives covering topics including university history, NASA pioneers, architecture, science fiction, cooking, LGBTQ+ history, Black history, urban legends, and more. Recordings of previous streams are available on the Libaries' Youtube page.
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please email library-event-accessibility-g@vt.edu at least 10 business days prior to the event.
