DESCRIPTION:It's time for an adventure!\n\nThis is a test of the emergency 
 action notification system. If this had been an actual emergency…\n\nThis 
 week\, we’re heading to the mid-20th Century to explore the Emergency 
 Broadcast System with the records of Virginia Tech’s student radio 
 station WUVT.\n\nWUVT started as a pirate radio station\, illegally 
 broadcasting in September. If officially registered and became Virginia 
 Tech’s student radio station on April 1\, 1948. The Federal 
 Communications Commission (FCC) launched the Emergency Broadcast System 
 (EBS) in 1963. WUVT became an outlet for the EBS and we’ll use their 
 records 
 (https://ead.lib.virginia.edu/vivaxtf/view?docId=oai/VT/repositories_2_resources_3967.xml) 
 to explore this centralized U.S. alert system.\n\nJoin our community 
 collections archivist\, Anthony Wright de Hernandez\, for a livestream on

 history\, NASA pioneers\, architecture\, science fiction\, cooking\, LGBTQ
