Special Collections and University Archives will be hosting an exhibit, “Women of Appalachia: Food, Drink, and Community in the Twentieth Century,” for the month of March. This exhibit will feature books, manuscript materials, photographs, and artifacts from our collections that highlight contributions by and about women in Appalachia. Materials will showcase the history of food, drink, and community-building in its many forms, from mobile libraries to agricultural practices to kitchen items. Join us on the 4th floor of Newman Library during open hours to learn more about this amazing history!

She is in her second year in the History Master’s program, and she researches women, gender, and activist history in southern West Virginia in the early twentieth century.
