Symposium on Understanding the Longevity, Historical, and Intergenerational Nature of Traumas

Symposium on Understanding the Longevity, Historical, and Intergenerational Nature of Traumas

Join us for a half-day symposium exploring the lasting impacts of trauma across generations. This event will feature a faculty panel discussion on displacement, racial, relational, and natural disaster-related traumas, followed by small-group discussions where participants can engage in meaningful conversations. Together, we’ll examine how trauma is transmitted, how it shapes individuals and communities today, and how we can work toward healing and resilience. Lunch will be provided, and attendees will have the opportunity to connect with resources for further learning and support. The event will take place on April 29th on the second floor of Newman Library in room 207A from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, welcome! Please email mariamyi@vt.edu at least 10 days prior to the event.
