Fall Foods History Open House
On Thursday, October 23 from 5:15-6:45p, join us in Special Collections and University Archives for our 3rd annual Food History Open House! This year, we’ll feature materials from our collections relating to fall/seasonal foods! From cranberries to sweet potatoes and turkey to pumpkin, you’ll be able to go “hands-on” with food history books and manuscripts, ask us questions, and learn more about our History of Food and Drink materials.
Special Collections and University Archives is located on the first floor of Newman Library near the cafe.
This is an in-person event, but even if you can't join us, you can explore an appetizer portion of our food and drink history materials online or visit us in the future. We've also got a handful of seasonal, fall, and spooky posts on our blogs: "What's Cookin' @Special Collections" and "News from Special Collections and University Archives." If you'd like to learn more about our food history materials, reference, and instruction opportunities, please visit our LibGuide OR contact Kira.
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please contact Kira Dietz at 540-231-3810 or kadietz@vt.edu during regular business hours at least 10 business days prior to the event.
