Creating interactive data dashboards with R and Shiny

Join us for an introduction to making interactive data dashboards in R with Shiny.

This hands-on, participatory workshop is designed for those with basic R programming experience that are looking to develop interactive data visualizations. Whether it is for internal use within a lab or working group or to communicate your findings to the world, Shiny can help you build an interactive dashboard with your data.

The workshop is open to anyone, but learners should be familiar with programming in R and RStudio equivalent to the Intro to R and RStudio and Data wrangling and visualization with R workshops.

Learning outcomes:

  • Apply the foundations of Shiny applications.
  • Describe how to add reactivity to static visualization to make them interactive.
  • Create and style a data dashboard with Shiny.
  • Identify sites and processes to publish a Shiny dashboard to the web.
