SUMMARY:Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Deep Dive
DESCRIPTION:The Evidence Synthesis Services (ESS) team at the University 
 Libraries is hosting a deep-dive into systematic review and meta-analysis 
 methodology\, during which participants will have the opportunity to become 
 familiar with the major required steps\, practice relevant skills\, and 
 consider the many decisions necessary for a successful 
 synthesis.\n\nAudience: This session is open to anyone interested in 
 gaining hands-on experience with the steps and skills required in a 
 systematic review (and meta-analysis). Participants are expected to have a 
 basic understanding of the general expectations and workflow of a 
 systematic review\, and be familiar with at least one relevant reporting 
 guideline (e.g.\, PRISMA) as listed in the “pre-workshop assignment” 
 below. Participants are welcome to bring a review that they are pursuing 
 (or plan to pursue) to work on throughout the session. However\, it is not 
 required that you have a project in progress to participate.\n\n*New This 
 Year*: Based on feedback from our last deep dive\, the first three days of 
 this session will focus on key steps required in a systematic review - an 
 optional fourth day has been added for those interested in 
 meta-analyses.\n\nTime: January 10 - 13\, 2022\; 10am - 3pm with a 1 hour 
 lunch break from 12 - 1pm. You must be able to attend the first three days 
 (January 10\, 11\, and 12) to participate. The fourth day (January 13) will 
 be optional for those interested in learning about meta-analysis methods. 
 \n\nAccess: The event will be hybrid\; upon registration\, you will be 
 asked to indicate whether you plan to attend online or in person - you can 
 only choose one option. In person registrants will meet at the Newman 
 Library in Blacksburg\, room 101S. Those who choose to attend online will
