Archival Adventures: Los Angeles Poverty Department (LAPD) Collection

Archival Adventures: Los Angeles Poverty Department (LAPD) Collection

It's time for an adventure! Join our community collections archivist, Anthony Wright de Hernandez, for a livestream on Twitch! Every week we explore and discuss materials from Special Collections and University Archives covering topics including university history, NASA pioneers, architecture, science fiction, cooking, LGBTQ+ history, Black history, urban legends, and more. Recordings of previous streams are available on the Libaries' Youtube page.

Today’s adventure takes us to the late 20th century and the Los Angeles Poverty Department (LAPD) Collection. This collection contains records from a theatre and community activism group spanning 1986-2000. Check out the finding aid (https://ead.lib.virginia.edu/vivaxtf/view?docId=oai/lib.vt.edu/repositories/2/resources/2148.oai_ead.xml) for more information and then join us for the stream!

If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please email library-event-accessibility-g@vt.edu at least 10 business days prior to the event.
