Web scraping 101: Intro to Scraping and XPath

Web scraping 101: Intro to Scraping and XPath

Learn what web scraping is (and is not) and common use cases, then practice identifying and selecting webpage content for scraping using XPath. No experience is necessary for this workshop, but participants need access to a computer with Google Chrome. We recommend combining this with Web scraping 102 for additional tools and practice. The workshop is based on episodes 1 and 2 of the Library Carpentry Web Scraping curriculum, and is relevant to anyone interested in gathering data from websites.

If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please email library-event-accessibility-g@vt.edu at least 10 business days prior to the event.
