Archival Adventures: Things Start to Jell: The Early Days of Jell-O
It's time for an adventure! This week ArchivistKira joins ArchivistAnthony for a trip to the early years of Jell-O. The brand Jell-O was “the original gelatin dessert” and began in Le Roy, New York, in 1897 when Pearle Bixby Wait trademarked the name. We have lots of items to look at today and won’t get to everything. If you want to see one in particular, let us know! Here’s a list: https://bit.ly/AA151
Join our community collections archivist, Anthony Wright de Hernandez, for a livestream on Twitch! Every week we explore and discuss materials from Special Collections and University Archives covering topics including university history, NASA pioneers, architecture, science fiction, cooking, LGBTQ+ history, Black history, urban legends, and more. Recordings of previous streams are available on the Libaries' Youtube page.
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please email library-event-accessibility-g@vt.edu at least 10 business days prior to the event.
