Archival Adventures: Captain Future

Archival Adventures: Captain Future

Are you ready for a look at the future? This week, we return to the William J. Heron Speculative Fiction Collection with the first issue of Edmond Hamilton’s Captain Future: Captain Future and the Space Emperor. Released in the Winter of 1940, Captain Future seeks to defeat the planetary outlaw, the Space Emperor, who is reversing evolution of the Earthmen colonists on Jupiter and turning them into prehistoric creatures. “Captain Future” was released from 1940 to 1944, only ending due to World War II paper shortages.
